City of Salzburg

You can easily reach the historical centre of the City of Salzburg with it’s oldtown in 10 – 15 minutes by public bus or by car.

The cityscape is dominated by the enormous medieval fortress, one of the biggest in Europe. You can visit gorgeous Palais and Churches, which made the oldtown a world heritage site of the UNESCO. The most famous children of the City are composer Wolfang Amadeus Mozart and the Trapp Family. Professional tour operators offer sightseeing at the scenes of the famous movie “The sound of Music”.

You can ride to the city centre in a horse carriage, departing every morning at 09:30am, exploring many interesting things about the city. The trip takes 25 minutes.
